Arrival and departure points

The traffic structure of Croatia, in particular in the cities Zagreb and Rijeka as the main pick up points, enables fast and safe arrival of the EUSA European University Championship participants by land, railway or air traffic and easy organization of the participants’ transport at the time of their arrival and departure, opening and closing ceremonies and any other official event.

Traffic terminals where the arrival and departure of the participants is expected are:

  • Zagreb Airport
  • Main Railway Station Zagreb
  • Bus Station Zagreb

Zagreb Airport is the official arrival point. The Organizing Committee will arrange a free transport from Zagreb to Opatija. We can arrange any other transport (participants coming from airports Trst, Rijeka, Venezia etc.) but they will be charged.

Free transport to Opatija is also organized for participants arriving to Rijeka by bus and train.

Zagreb Airport (

By regular daily direct flights with major airlines such as Aeroflot, Air France, Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Czech Airlines, Malev, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, Tyrolean Airways, Germanwings etc. Zagreb is connected with whole Europe and world.

Rijeka Airport (

Rijeka Airport is connected to more then 17 European cities. Rijeka Airport is situated in the heart of Kvarner, on the island of Krk. The airport is operational all the year round with no peak loads or holding circuits.

Plan of transport

Which form of transportation will be used will depend on the target group of participants, their needs and expectations regarding the frequency and duration of the journey, the flexibility and type of the means of transportation. The organizer will establish a traffic coordination committee.

EUSA Family and VIP transportation

EUSA Family and VIP guests will be transported by personal vehicles with driver which will be at their disposal 24 hours a day. For special occasions, such as the opening and closing ceremonies, transport for a larger number of persons will be organized.
